This conference was organised by the SWRBD in co-operation with SWAN (Sustainable Water Network). The aim of the conference was to support Advisory Council members in participating in the consultation on the Water Matters report for the River Basin Districts. It took place on Friday 28th September in County Hall, Cork.

SWRBD Advisory Council

The role of the Advisory Council is to encourage and facilitate the active involvement of interested parties in relation to the management of water quality, the protection of aquatic ecosystems and the preparation of river basin management plans.  The Advisory Council will serve as a forum for direct dialogue, consultation and interaction between interested parties and the relevant public authorities.

Nominations were sought for the SWRBD Advisory Council in November of 2005 by Cork County Council on behalf of the SWRBD.  Representatives from each of the following now participate in the SWRBD Advisory Council:
